About the role
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Cary, NC is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department.
Responsibilities
- A liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors.
- Client contact through phone calls, email, and in-person conversations.
- Assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x-rays, and obtaining lab samples.
- Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
- Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
- Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
- Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
- Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
- Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
- Clean and maintain equipment following procedure.
- Discharge IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Pay: $20.00 - $40.50 / hour. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our leveling system.
- Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience**.
