Veterinary Technician, Internal Medicine

About the role
- Partner closely with board-certified specialists and emergency clinicians to provide exceptional care for a diverse caseload of complex internal medicine patients.
- Assist with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including endoscopy, bronchoscopy, rhinoscopy, cystoscopy, ultrasound-guided aspirates and biopsies, CT imaging, and contrast studies.
- Work alongside our internists to facilitate efficient appointment flow, support new consultation and recheck appointments, and deliver exceptional patient care throughout each visit.
- Monitor and support patients through advanced diagnostics and treatments, including ACTH stimulation testing, glucose curves, abdominocentesis, thoracocentesis, and other specialized procedures.
- Utilize your technical expertise to provide compassionate patient care while ensuring accurate documentation, treatment preparation, and client support throughout the patient's visit.
- Collaborate with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced specialty environment dedicated to delivering outstanding patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Veterinary Technician License (LVT, CVT, or RVT) preferred, but not required.
- Foundational veterinary knowledge, including patient restraint, triage, imaging, laboratory skills, and venipuncture.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to stay calm and organized under pressure.
- Experience in veterinary medicine, ideally including specialty or advanced care settings.
- Experience with I-131 therapy, endoscopy, anesthesia monitoring, and appointment coordination is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology, including conditions such as infectious, immune-mediated, and inflammatory diseases.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Excellent customer service skills, interacting with clients in a way that reflects Avets’ commitment to advanced medical care and compassionate support for pets and their families.
- Ability to collaborate with team members to foster a productive, positive, and respectful workplace.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required; fluency in multiple languages a plus.
- All technical staff must be able to stand, bend, lift, and/or kneel for the duration of a shift (10 hours), and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.

Pay
$19-26 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
1st shift, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, four days per week.
