Veterinary Technician
About the role
The Veterinary Technician role at Argenta, MVS is available at our Oakland, NE location. This position is designed for individuals who can demonstrate their ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Clean and perform daily chores repeatedly under the direction of senior staff and veterinarians.
- Collect research data and samples in accordance with study protocols and Good Documentation Practices.
- Absorb and report on observations and procedures conducted by veterinarians, alerting them to any abnormalities.
- Promote and maintain the well-being of animals, including feeding and basic care.
- Repair, maintain, and operate equipment/machinery.
- Perform administrative duties that support the care of animals and site functions.
- Record information both timely and accurately.
- Build relationships with key individuals and contributors in the organization and beyond.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Veterinary science or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience working with animals, both large and small.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain composure.
- Collaborative skills and effective communication abilities, both written and oral.
- An attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Dependability, flexibility, and ability to manage time effectively.
- Willingness to be on call and participate in on-call rotations, including weekends.
- Live within a reasonable distance to assist in on-call purposes and procedures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
