Veterinary Technician - Garden State Vet Services
About the role
Garden State Veterinary Services is hiring Certified Veterinary Technicians (CVTs) and Experienced Veterinary Technicians to join their busy specialty hospital. They are currently seeking team members for: Daytime and Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technicians, and Specialty Veterinary Technicians in Oncology and Neurology.
Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor anesthesia
- Triage incoming patients
- Set up CRIs and perform medical math calculations
- Place IV catheters and manage fluid therapy
- Maintain accurate treatment sheets and anesthesia records
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
- Maintain patient pain levels
- Advocate for hospitalized patients with compassionate care
- Provide education to clients on at-home care instructions
Requirements
- CVT/LVT preferred, or minimum of 2 years of technician experience
- Strong anesthesia monitoring skills
- Experience processing laboratory samples
- Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and normal/abnormal ranges
- Interest in mentoring and supporting assistants
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to teamwork and client service
- Positive attitude, integrity, and a desire to learn
