About the role
DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is seeking full-time Certified or Licensed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT — or a credential transferable to Oregon) to join our Outpatient Services and Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) teams.
Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality nursing care to high-acuity patients
- Supporting the full patient experience
- Calculating dosages and administering medications
- Running in-house lab work
- Placing tubes and catheters
- Monitoring anesthesia and patient recovery
- Ensuring patient comfort
- Updating clients on their pet’s progress
- Collaborating with outpatient and specialty teams to deliver smooth, high-standard care
- Helping manage advanced critical care cases under the direction of board-certified Criticalists
Requirements
- Current status as a CVT/LVT/RVT (or credential transferable to Oregon)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years working in the veterinary field as a technician or assistant (preferred)
- 1+ year emergency and/or specialty small animal experience (preferred)
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Qualifications
- VTS pathway support for credentialed technicians seeking to specialize, with mentorship from experienced VTS team members.
- Managing and assisting with advanced critical care treatments like CRRT, TPE, Hi-Flo oxygen therapy, and critical care ventilator management under the supervision of board-certified Criticalists.
- Collaborating across multiple specialties, including ECC, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Exotics, Hospice, Pain Management, Urgent Care, and Diagnostic Imaging.

Pay
- $28-$36 hourly for Certified Veterinary Technicians (or other license type that is transferable to Oregon)
- $38-$44 hourly for Veterinary Technician Specialists
- This position qualifies for 12% overnight and 10% weekend differential pay for relevant shifts.
Schedule
- Currently hiring for overnight. Other schedules may become available in the near future. Please feel free to apply even if you have other availability so we can discuss options.
- Outpatient Services and ECC technicians work 3/4 rotating schedules with 10 hours shifts. This means you have a consistent schedule that makes planning the rest of your life easy, and you get 3 or 4 days off in a row every week! All schedules include working one weekend day every week.
