Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an extraordinary Cardiology Veterinary Technician. This position offers an opportunity to work with some of the brightest veterinary professionals in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
• Calculate basic medical math.
• Understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects, and appropriately monitor therapeutic response.
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Triage and obtain patient history.
• Absorb and assist clinician with diagnostic procedures.
• Patient care including treatments.
• Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients.

Qualifications

• Passionate about veterinary medicine and specifically Cardiology.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of pharmacology and medical math.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25 - $35 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
