VCA Shaker Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team in Latham, NY. This is a great opportunity to explore and enhance your veterinary skills while providing exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients
• Support technician and doctor teams by performing physical examinations and patient assessments
• Anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation and assisting, dentistry, laboratory work, venipuncture, catheter placement, pharmacy, and patient recovery
• Provide compassionate care to hospitalized animals
• Win the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience

Requirements

• Current New York State license as a Veterinary Technician
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for veterinary medicine and client care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program
• Knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and anatomy
• Experience with electronic medical records systems

Pay

The salary range for this position is $24 - $29 / hour based on experience.
