UVEC is a newly established, independently owned veterinary urgent care hospital in Herriman, Utah. As a Veterinary Technician at UVEC, you are the backbone of the hospital, working side by side with doctors as true clinical partners in a well-equipped, modern facility. Schedule & Pay
$23–$35/hour depending on experience and licensure.
- 12-hour shifts: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Maximum of 14-16 shifts per month—sustainable schedules prioritized

UVEC offers in-house mentorship rare in veterinary medicine. Our doctors and senior staff are personally invested in the development of every technician. Whether you’re newly credentialed, experienced, or unlicensed and working toward credentials, you will learn and grow faster here. Our mentorship program is structured to expand your capabilities weekly, ensuring you operate at the top of your skill set. You’ll place IV catheters, induce and monitor anesthesia, assist in surgery, run diagnostics, and manage critical patients—with training provided where needed.

Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in examination, diagnosis, and treatment of urgent care patients
- Place IV catheters, draw blood, and obtain diagnostic samples
- Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
- Assist in surgical procedures and maintain sterile technique
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed
- Run in-house laboratory diagnostics and assist with imaging
- Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes in status to the attending veterinarian
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records and treatment logs
- Keep treatment areas, surgical suites, and equipment clean, stocked, and organized
- Practice the gold standard of patient care in every interaction
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred—unlicensed technicians with strong hands-on experience will be considered
- Prior veterinary clinical experience required; urgent care or specialty experience a plus
- Proficiency in venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and patient restraint
- Strong diagnostic and technical skills with a willingness to continuously learn
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine commitment to compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
- A strong work ethic and the drive to continuously improve
