Applicants must have a strong work ethic, a positive personality, and the ability to communicate effectively. They should be capable of multi-tasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment, work harmoniously with a team, and possess or be willing to learn a well-rounded technical skill set. A passion for delivering exceptional care to equine patients and clients is essential. Applicants must have horse handling skills and be comfortable working with and around horses.
Responsibilities
- Assist the veterinarian during appointments and use veterinary software for documenting lab results
- Obtain and process laboratory samples
- Perform diagnostic imaging
- Prep patients for and assist in surgery
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
- Provide compassionate patient care
- Work a rotating after-hours/weekend on-call schedule
- Keep all areas of the hospital and vet trucks clean and organized
- Have reliable transportation
