Veterinary Technician

About the Role

Applicants must have a strong work ethic, a positive personality, and the ability to communicate effectively. They should be capable of multi-tasking efficiently in a fast-paced environment, work harmoniously with a team, and possess or be willing to learn a well-rounded technical skill set. A passion for delivering exceptional care to equine patients and clients is essential. Applicants must have horse handling skills and be comfortable working with and around horses.

Responsibilities

• Assist the veterinarian during appointments and use veterinary software for documenting lab results
• Obtain and process laboratory samples
• Perform diagnostic imaging
• Prep patients for and assist in surgery
• Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
• Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
• Provide compassionate patient care
• Work a rotating after-hours/weekend on-call schedule
• Keep all areas of the hospital and vet trucks clean and organized
• Have reliable transportation
