Veterinary Technician Assistant - Dermatology
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose. Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading. Do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. IMPORTANT: include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. "commensurate with experience", "not specified", "N/A", "varies", "TBD") and never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones.
We need to decide which sections to include. The posting includes:
- About the organization (PVESC description)
- The Opportunity (maybe summary)
- What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- What We’re Looking For (Requirements/Qualifications/Skills)
- Schedule & Compensation (Schedule, Pay)
- Benefits (list)
- Why PVESC? (maybe about culture)
- EEO statement (remove)
- Hashtag #ACP1 (maybe drop)
We need to avoid duplicate lines. Also remove application instructions (none present). Remove EEO boilerplate.
We need to include sections only if real content. So we can have:
About PVESC
(or About the role?). The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. But we can also use other headings? It says "use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." That suggests those are examples; we can use those headings if appropriate. We could use "About the role" for the description of the role and organization. Or "About PVESC". But they gave examples; we can stick to those. Probably "About the role" is appropriate for the introductory paragraph about the organization and opportunity.
Then Responsibilities: list of duties.
Then Requirements/Qualifications/Skills: we can combine into one section maybe "Requirements" or "Qualifications". The posting has "What We’re Looking For" with bullet-like sentences. Could be Requirements.
Then Schedule: we have schedule details.
Then Pay: we have starting pay.
Then Benefits: list.
We should not create sections with placeholder text. All have real content.
We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences.
We need to use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. For prose, use
.
We need to preserve all substantive information. So we need to include all details from the posting, except boilerplate.
Let's extract content:
Intro: "Join Our Exceptional Team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) Dermatology Veterinary Assistant Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in Portland, Maine. We’re committed to creating a collaborative workplace where team members are supported, encouraged to grow, and empowered to provide exceptional patient care. We’re also expanding with a new 42,000-square-foot hospital in Falmouth, Maine, with employee well-being at the forefront."
Then "The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Dermatology team and work closely with our board-certified dermatologist. You’ll support patients and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up while collaborating with teams across the hospital."
That could be part of About the role.
Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):
- Administer medications and immunotherapy under veterinary supervision
- Assist with diagnostics, including lab work, imaging, and CT
- Support appointments, patient flow, and scheduling
- Maintain accurate medical records, treatment notes, and drug logs
- Educate and communicate compassionately with clients
- Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, and other teams
- Provide patient-centered care and emotional support throughout treatment
Requirements (What We’re Looking For):
- Veterinary Assistant experience required
- Specialty medicine and/or dermatology experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Experience with EzyVet, SmartFlow, or similar software is a plus
- Positive attitude and commitment to compassionate care
Schedule & Compensation:
- Full-time
- Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–6 p.m. Schedule may shift to Tuesday–Friday
- Some holidays required
- Starting pay: $25–$28/hour, based on experience
Benefits:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Life and long-term disability insurance
- Paid time off, holidays, and volunteer hours
- 401(k) with employer match
- Uniform allowance
- Personal pet discount
- Paid continuing education and professional development
- Mentorship, career growth, and cross-training opportunities
Why PVESC?:
- At PVESC, every voice matters. We believe in teamwork, professional growth, and creating an environment where people (the sentence cuts off? Actually original: "At PVESC, every voice matters. We believe in teamwork, professional growth, and creating an environment where people PVESC is an equal opportunity employer." There's a weird duplication. Probably the intended: "At PVESC, every voice matters. We believe in teamwork, professional growth, and creating an environment where people..." but then they inserted EEO. We'll keep the first sentence: "At PVESC, every voice matters. We believe in teamwork, professional growth, and creating an environment where people". It seems incomplete; maybe it's a mistake. But we should preserve substantive information; we can include the sentence as is, but it's incomplete. However it's not placeholder like "N/A". It's a sentence fragment but it's from posting. We'll keep it.
We should remove the EEO line and the hashtag.
Thus we can have a section "Why PVESC?" maybe as a heading? Not in examples but could be used. The instruction says use h3 for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid other headings, but says "use
for section headings (e.g. ...)". It implies we should use those headings for sections; but we could also add other headings if needed. However to be safe, we could incorporate the "Why PVESC?" content into About the role or maybe a separate section "About PVESC". But the examples didn't include "Why PVESC?" but we could still use for that heading; it's still a heading. The instruction didn't say we cannot use other headings; just gave examples. So we can use for any section heading.
We need to avoid creating sections with filler text. The "Why PVESC?" content is substantive (though incomplete). We'll include it.
Now format:
About the role
Join Our Exceptional Team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) Dermatology Veterinary Assistant Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in Portland, Maine. We’re committed to creating a collaborative workplace where team members are supported, encouraged to grow, and empowered to provide exceptional patient care. We’re also expanding with a new 42,000-square-foot hospital in Falmouth, Maine, with employee well-being at the forefront. The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Dermatology team and work closely with our board-certified dermatologist. You’ll support patients and their families throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up while collaborating with teams across the hospital.
But that's a bit repetitive: "Join Our Exceptional Team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) Dermatology Veterinary Assistant Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is ..." The original had duplicated phrase. We should preserve all substantive information but not duplicate lines? The instruction: "Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions." So we should remove duplicated lines. The intro seems to have duplicated "Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC)" maybe twice. We should deduplicate. Let's rewrite the about section concisely but preserving all info: The key info: PVESC is a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in Portland, Maine. Committed to collaborative workplace, team members supported, encouraged to grow, empowered to provide exceptional patient care. Expanding with a new 42,000-square-foot hospital in Falmouth, Maine, with employee well-being at the forefront. Seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join Dermatology team, work closely with board-certified dermatologist, support patients/families throughout diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, collaborate with teams across hospital.
We need to preserve all substantive information; we can combine but not lose any. The duplicated line is just the repeated phrase; we can remove duplication.
Thus About the role paragraph: "Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is a growing multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice in Portland, Maine. We’re committed to creating a collaborative workplace where team members are supported, encouraged to grow, and empowered to provide exceptional patient care. We’re also expanding with a new 42,000-square-foot hospital in Falmouth, Maine, with employee well-being at the forefront. We’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our Dermatology team and work closely with our board-certified dermatologist. That seems good.
