About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Anesthesia Technician to join our centralized anesthesia team and play a critical role in supporting patient care across multiple specialty services, including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Oncology, Neurology, Radiology, and Emergency.
Responsibilities
- Executes prescribed anesthetic plans for patients undergoing anesthesia, from pre-anesthesia until recovery, and monitoring throughout.
- Perform patient pain assessments and develop proposed analgesic plans for cases using multimodal pain management techniques.
- Documents patient care using AESC anesthesia forms in Smart Flow and EzyVet.
- Set up and troubleshoot anesthesia machines and monitoring equipment.
- Execute prescribed analgesic plans for anesthetic cases using local, systemic, and regional pain management techniques.
- Set up and maintain anesthetic equipment for patients.
- Identify normal/abnormal anesthetic readings and collaborate with veterinarian to provide proper intervention.
- Troubleshoot anesthetic complications and alert the prescribing veterinarian when appropriate.
- Administer a wide range of anesthetic drugs.
- Set up and maintain CRI’s to treat a variety of conditions such as pain and hypotension.
- Facilitate anesthesia on a variety of cases to include soft tissue, orthopedic, and a wide variety of surgical wound repairs.
- Obtain samples for diagnostic tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Monitor anesthetic patients for a variety of diagnostics such as CT and MRI.
- Execute anesthesia on a variety of patients with ASA status ranging from I-IV.
- Help and support other areas of the hospital as directed.
Requirements
- At least TWO YEARS of veterinary technician experience is required in a surgical setting or anesthesia focus role.
- Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
- At least 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience in a Emergency or Specialty Hospital.
- Experience with performing anesthesia for MRI or CT scans.
- Experience with more critical anesthesia.
- Ability to multitask and anticipate the department's needs.
- Excellent communication.
- Experience using Medical Record and Whiteboard programs in a veterinary setting.

Pay
Credentialed Veterinary Technicians: $25-$35 hourly

Full Time - Monday - Friday
7:00am – 3:30pm
