Veterinary Technician - Acequia Animal Hospital

About the role

Acequia Animal Hospital is seeking a motivated veterinary technician for part-time employment. The position offers an ideal environment with guidance and mentorship for growth.

Responsibilities

• IV catheter placement
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Dental cleaning
• Blood draws
• Proper restraint techniques
• Proper use of all in-house laboratory equipment
• Digital radiographs
• Flexible shifts around 7:15AM-5:30PM, rotating short shifts on Saturdays from 8AM-12PM

Requirements

• Experience preferred but not necessary; open to training the right person!
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance and more than 40 pounds with assistance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of animal care and behavior.
• Multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in computer skills and medical record-keeping software.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

$18/HR depending on experience and credentials

Schedule

About 20-28 hours per week, flexible shifts around 7:15AM-5:30PM, rotating short shifts on Saturdays from 8AM-12PM
