Veterinary Relations Manager
Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinary Relations Partner to support Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists and South Atlanta Veterinary Emergency & Specialty in Atlanta, Georgia. This role serves as a liaison between the practice and referring veterinarians within the market and surrounding areas, acting as a key strategic, operations, and communications representative to support the growth of referral practices and specialty service lines.
Responsibilities
- Understand business needs, solve problems, and make decisions through inclusive contributions of others.
- Develop a ‘Professional Promise’ to guide all referral veterinarian and client decisions.
- Create a call routing schedule to engage top referring practices and veterinarians, and prospect new top-tier referring practices.
- Schedule routine ride-along visits with Thrive Specialists to referring hospitals to facilitate referral growth.
- Plan and execute referring hospital visits 4 days per week, with a goal of approximately 30 practice visits per week.
- Utilize PMS and/or CRM software to document and track weekly interactions with referring veterinarians, including call notes and reach/frequency targets.
- Meet new business volume goals and year-over-year referral business growth targets.
- Act as administrator for the rVetLink and/or records sharing system for each practice.
- Monitor specialty doctor schedules to improve appointment fill rates through coordination with practice staff.
- Generate and review monthly and quarterly fill rates and referrals with practice and field leadership, as well as the marketing team.
- Report case volumes, outreach calls, referral tracking, referral revenue, and procedure counts to practice leadership monthly.
- Ensure referral hospital complaints are shared directly with hospital leadership for immediate resolution.
- Plan and organize CE events in various venues, including hotels, restaurants, customer sites, and Thrive Specialty practices.
- Work with the Medical team to secure RACE or state board CE credit for medical education events.
- Organize attendance at community events, local VMA meetings, and newsletters.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and emotional intelligence when interacting with clients, veterinarians, and referring practice teams.
- Ensure the Practice and Thrive brand/message align with strategic objectives outlined in the Thrive Plan.
- Work closely with the CSR department, schedulers, specialty coordinators, Specialist DVMs, and technicians to maintain open dialogue and direct communication.
- Collaborate with all practice departments to acquire extensive knowledge of clinical services and represent the practice engagingly.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of the hospital, doctors, processes, and policies.
- Upholds Thrive core values and standards.
- Maintains a clean and professional appearance.
- Requires 80% field-facing travel and the ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including potential overtime, weekends, and travel.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Able to accept and manage critical feedback.
- Capable of leading, managing, influencing, and coaching staff at all levels regarding marketing best practices and initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills.
- Holds and practices a “do the right thing” mentality.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs and comfortable presenting via PowerPoint.
- 3+ years in the veterinary industry preferred.
- 5+ years in marketing experience preferred.

Pay
$65,000 - $85,000 / year based on experience
