Responsibilities
- Answer and respond to all phone calls from clients, Referral Partners, and Pharmacies; log all conversations and check/record voicemails.
- Serve as backup to the switchboard coordinator for incoming calls.
- Call for referral information on new or recheck patient appointments.
- Coordinate with the clinical team and update the departmental schedule calendar.
- Check for incoming referral faxes at the front desk or communication center.
- Organize records in hard charts for next-day specialty appointments.
- Check appointment emails throughout the day and email electronic records/x-rays to relevant departments, including radiology.
- Fax referral letters (location-dependent).
- Make copies as needed for client handouts and cage sheet change forms.
- Call clients to remind them of appointments and drop-offs for the next day.
- Monitor and restock department supplies, and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
