About the role

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the face of our practice, playing an important role in every client and patient experience. You’ll help strengthen our reputation in the community by creating a warm welcome, providing exceptional service, and supporting pets and their families throughout every stage of care.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome clients and patients with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Manage multiple phone lines and respond to client questions clearly and courteously.
  • Schedule appointments and help coordinate the hospital’s daily calendar.
  • Complete client follow-ups and communicate important information promptly.
  • Process payments and assist clients during check-in and check-out.
  • Help clients with pet food, medications, and other supply purchases.
  • Update patient charts and maintain accurate client and patient information.
  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, comfortable, and welcoming.
  • Communicate with veterinarians, technicians, and other team members to support efficient hospital operations.
  • Create a positive experience for every pet and person who contacts or visits the hospital.

Requirements

  • A genuine love of animals and commitment to their welfare.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, friendly, and professional telephone presence.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy hospital environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail when updating records and documenting communication.
  • A positive attitude and collaborative, team-first mindset.
  • Compassion and empathy for clients during both joyful and difficult moments.

Veterinary reception experience is a plus but not required.
