About the role
As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will be the face of our practice, playing an important role in every client and patient experience. You’ll help strengthen our reputation in the community by creating a warm welcome, providing exceptional service, and supporting pets and their families throughout every stage of care.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients and patients with warmth, empathy, and professionalism.
- Manage multiple phone lines and respond to client questions clearly and courteously.
- Schedule appointments and help coordinate the hospital’s daily calendar.
- Complete client follow-ups and communicate important information promptly.
- Process payments and assist clients during check-in and check-out.
- Help clients with pet food, medications, and other supply purchases.
- Update patient charts and maintain accurate client and patient information.
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, comfortable, and welcoming.
- Communicate with veterinarians, technicians, and other team members to support efficient hospital operations.
- Create a positive experience for every pet and person who contacts or visits the hospital.
Requirements
- A genuine love of animals and commitment to their welfare.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm, friendly, and professional telephone presence.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy hospital environment.
- Excellent attention to detail when updating records and documenting communication.
- A positive attitude and collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Compassion and empathy for clients during both joyful and difficult moments.
Veterinary reception experience is a plus but not required.
