Veterinary Receptionist
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
- Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
- Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
- Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
- Aid in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist or medical office assistant preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor

Dorset Street Animal Hospital is a brand new Urgent Care Veterinary practice in South Burlington, Vermont, dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care for dogs and cats across the greater Burlington area. As the sister hospital to Onion River Animal Hospital in Berlin, we recently expanded our services to include walk-in urgent care, giving Vermont pet owners a trusted place to turn when their pets need prompt attention. Schedule
This is a full time position. Our hospital is open 8am–8pm, seven days a week. This position includes a mix of weekday and weekend shifts, with some evening shifts required.
Pay
Salary: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
