Veterinary Receptionist

Pay

• $19.83 - $28.27 / hour
• Dependent on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system

Schedule

• Late afternoon to evening (closing shift)
• Shift differential pay for nights and weekends
• Shift differentials based on a 4-hour minimum

An excellent customer service professional who offers guidance, comfort, and support.

Responsibilities

• Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens
• Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor
• Assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need and the pet’s general condition
• Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency
• Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member
• Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment
• Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner
• Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains
