About the role

VRC Specialty Hospital is seeking a Radiation Oncologist to join our team. We are a comprehensive, specialty veterinary healthcare center offering advanced diagnostic testing, treatment, and ongoing management of various medical conditions. We provide a friendly, approachable, and integrative approach to cancer care, featuring dedicated chemotherapy suites and state-of-the-art Varian Halcyon linear accelerator and Eclipse treatment planning system.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced radiation therapy services to diagnose and treat various types of cancer in animals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Participate in clinical research and contribute to advancements in veterinary oncology.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain high standards of patient care.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Veterinary Radiation Oncology from the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR).
  • Experience in treating a wide range of cancers in companion animals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in veterinary medicine.
  • Proven track record of successful patient outcomes.
  • Knowledge of oncology principles and practices.
  • Experience with advanced imaging technologies.

Skills

  • Proficiency in using Varian Halcyon linear accelerator and Eclipse treatment planning system.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective leadership and teaching skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
