About Us
Bedford Veterinary Medical Center is a state-of-the-art, multi-doctor hospital offering personal, progressive, and comprehensive animal care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets in the Southern New Hampshire area. We practice high-quality medicine with care and compassion, providing services such as annual wellness care, anesthesia and sedation, dentistry, internal medicine, laser therapy, in-house pharmacy, surgery, urgent/immediate care, and acupuncture. Our facilities are equipped with ultrasound, digital radiography, dental x-ray, and a complete in-house laboratory. Our sister hospital in Hudson, Lowell Road Veterinary Center, offers rehabilitation services including underwater treadmill therapy, massage therapy, laser therapy, and modality exercises.
We aim to create a comfortable experience for clients and pets, treating them as extended family. Located in tax-free southern New Hampshire, our area offers beaches, mountains, and city life within short driving distances—ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and families.
Responsibilities
- Train, coach, evaluate, and support team members through performance management and team meetings.
- Manage staffing schedules, payroll, hiring, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Maintain accurate records, inventory control, controlled substances compliance, and hospital policies (DEA/OSHA).
- Oversee office workflow, facility maintenance, safety, and revenue reporting.
- Support marketing initiatives and represent the hospital at community and industry events.
- Ensure exceptional client service by resolving concerns professionally and supporting patient care coordination.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support hospital operations.
- Communicate effectively with staff, clients, and veterinary teams while fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
This position will oversee operations for both the Bedford and Lowell locations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a veterinary office or similar customer service role, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management position.
- 40 hours a week, with rotating weekends.
- Time split between floor/admin duties, including:
- Overseeing daily administrative functions to ensure efficient workflow.
- Supervising, training, and mentoring reception staff for high-quality customer service.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming office environment.
- Managing inventory of office supplies and veterinary materials.
- Coordinating office scheduling, including appointments and surgeries.
- Handling staff scheduling and compliance with labor laws.
- Preparing and distributing internal communications.
