Veterinary Medical Receptionist

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets with a warm and welcoming demeanor, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their visit
  • Manage incoming phone calls and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner, providing accurate information and scheduling appointments as needed
  • Process client payments and maintain accurate financial records, including billing, invoicing, and insurance claims
  • Schedule appointments, record keeping and organization, provide estimates and invoices for payment
  • Cookinate patient intake and discharge, ensuring proper documentation and communication with medical staff and clients
  • Maintain accurate medical records using our hospital's electronic medical records system
  • Facilitate communication between clients and medical staff, ensuring timely response to inquiries and relaying important information to the appropriate parties
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked and readily available
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with different departments within the hospital, including medical staff, technicians, and other administrative staff

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience in emergency or specialty veterinary hospital is preferred (technician, liaison, customer service)
  • Professional, pleasant, engaged, clear communicator who is attentive and respectful to referring veterinarians, clients, and co-workers
  • Must be able to balance multiple tasks, be confident, and prioritize tasks appropriately in a high-pace setting
  • Computer experience (Word, Excel) and operation of office equipment such as, fax machine, copy machine, credit card and check terminal, and postage meter
  • Related veterinary software and Care Credit knowledge preferred
  • Must possess basic math skills to determine proper deposits and process payments
