Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

We are a small animal clinic located in Madison, MS. We offer a unique culture and a hands-on learning environment for externs. We focus on providing a comprehensive learning experience where externs can learn, grow, and develop into skilled veterinarians.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience in gathering patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Perform diagnostics
• Provide dental services
• Assist or perform surgical procedures
• Manage medical cases
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

Externships are designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students. Students must be in the clinical portion of their education to qualify. Eligible students may receive a travel/living expense stipend. For more information about the stipend program, click HERE.
