Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Dunes Animal Hospital is a progressive general practice hospital that values mutual respect and teamwork. We provide outstanding patient care and customer service, offering a variety of services including preventative care, ultrasound, in-house Idexx laboratory suite, digital x-ray, orthopedics, and partnering with local wildlife rescue.

Responsibilities

• Participate directly with clinicians in case management
• Engage in educational activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge base
• Work within the hospital's fast-paced environment
• Receive a travel/living expense stipend if in the clinical portion of education

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a Veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited school of Veterinary Medicine
• In good academic standing
• Hard-working, motivated, friendly, and team-oriented

Qualifications

Preference may be given to students in their final year(s) of veterinary school.

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Interest in wildlife medicine
