Veterinary Extern - General Practice
Job Description
At Clinton Keith Veterinary Hospital, we have doctors who love to teach. Located in the Temecula Valley with stunning mountain views and close to wineries, our hospital is modern with state-of-the-art equipment.
About the Role
Students will work closely with supervising veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of veterinary practice, including:
- Gathering patient histories
- Performing physical exams
- Creating treatment plans
- Diagnostics
- Dentistry services
- Observing or assisting in surgical procedures
- Medical management of patients
Additionally, students will practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Responsibilities
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. Students are encouraged to participate regardless of their class year.
Requirements
National Veterinary Associates is a leading global pet care organization. Students must be enrolled in a veterinary school program and have completed prerequisite coursework.
Qualifications
Preference is given to students who have completed prerequisite coursework and are currently enrolled in a veterinary school program.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a passion for animal care are essential.

Schedule
