About the role
The Veterinary Extern at Spanish Fort Animal Clinic will gain hands-on experience under the supervision of experienced veterinarians. The externship is reserved for students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.
Responsibilities
- Assist with routine examinations and consultations
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures such as blood draws and urinalyses
- Administer medications and treatments as directed
- Learn and assist with surgical procedures
- Support the pharmacy and treatment areas
- Collaborate with other team members for patient care
Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in a veterinary school and in their final clinical year. No prior experience is necessary.
Qualifications
Strong academic performance, good communication skills, and a compassionate attitude are essential. Applicants should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
