Veterinary Extern - General Practice
Job Description
An externship experience at Alta Animal Hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience.
About the Role

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in various aspects of veterinary practice, including:
- Gathering patient histories
- Performing physical exams
- Creating treatment plans
- Diagnostics
- Dentistry services
- Observing or assisting in surgical procedures
- Medical management of patients
Students will also practice their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Responsibilities
Most externship experiences at Alta Animal Hospital range from two to eight weeks, depending on the schedules of both the student and the hospital. Externships are designed for students in their final clinical year.
