Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
We are a busy, small animal clinic in Farmington, New Mexico with 3 veterinarians on staff with the capacity for 2 or 3 more. Besides dogs and cats, we also see exotics, reptiles, and birds. We pride ourselves on excellent veterinary care and relationships with our clients. We strive to educate our clients and believe a proactive preventive approach is best for our patient's health. Our team is compassionate, personable, dedicated, and works well together. Our doctors strive to find answers and do what is best for the patient. We encourage an atmosphere of mentorship and teamwork where practitioner growth is at the forefront.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creation of treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
- Practice clinical skills including but not limited to gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/assisting or performing surgical procedures, and medical management of patients.
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Qualifications
