Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
College Garden Animal Hospital is a well-established full services small animal hospital with an exceptional team known for fostering a fun environment. We prioritize building lasting connections with both our patients and their families by delivering high standards of veterinary care.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dental services, assist or perform surgical procedures, and manage medical cases.
- Practice clinical skills while honing communication skills through interactions with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Qualifications
Veterinary students (all class years) are welcome to participate in NVA externships. Those in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Additionally, housing is provided at no cost to the student.
Skills
Students will develop a wide range of skills including veterinary clinical skills, communication skills, and teamwork.

Schedule
