Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
The Companion Pet Clinic of Klamath Falls offers a unique opportunity for veterinary students to gain hands-on experience under the guidance of an experienced veterinarian. The clinic provides a supportive environment where students can learn various aspects of pet care including patient history gathering, physical exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dental care, and surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the supervising veterinarian to perform clinical tasks such as physical exams and treatment planning.
- Assist in diagnostic procedures and observe or assist in surgical procedures.
- Manage medical cases independently and under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Requirements
Veterinary students are welcome regardless of their class year. Participation is open to all veterinary students who are currently in the clinical portion of their education.
