Veterinary Extern - General Practice

About the role

Cedarwood Veterinary Clinic is a small, family-style practice located in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The clinic has been in operation for over 30 years and serves a multi-generational clientele. It is situated on one of the city's busiest commercial thoroughfares.

Responsibilities

• Work side-by-side with Dr. Mark Terry, the dedicated DVM, to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of veterinary medicine.
• Conduct patient histories and physical exams.
• Develop diagnostic and treatment plans.
• Perform and assist with surgical and dental procedures.
• Run in-house diagnostics and interpret results.
• Provide inpatient care and client education.
• Practice effective communication and teamwork with both staff and pet owners.

Requirements

Open to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.

Qualifications

Students must be in the clinical portion of their education and eligible for the travel/living expense stipend.

Skills
