Responsibilities

• Gain experience in gathering patient histories
• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Diagnose and manage dental care
• Assist or perform surgical procedures under supervision
• Communicate effectively with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Qualifications

Students must be enrolled in a veterinary school and in the clinical portion of their education. They are required to have completed prerequisite coursework and passed the appropriate licensing exams.

Benefits

Veterinary students who participate in the externship may receive a travel/living expense stipend, depending on their class year and hospital schedules.
