Veterinary Criticalist

The ideal candidate is an individual who is team-oriented and has excellent communication skills with fellow colleagues, clients, and the referral community. The healthcare team includes great clinical services team members (our well-trained technicians), a community of Critical Care specialists across our organization, and medical leaders who understand what it takes to deliver profession-leading specialty and emergency care.

Responsibilities

• Mentoring House Officers
• Collaborating with the Critical Care team to provide 24/7 emergency and specialty care
• Performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as extracorporeal therapies, hemoperfusion, hemodialysis, and electrochemotherapy
• Communicating effectively with clients and referring veterinarians
• Contributing to the development of referral partnerships based on trust, respect, communication, and empathy

Requirements

• Board certification or residency training in veterinary critical care
• Experience in providing critical care services
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Louisiana
• Passport for international travel if required for patient referrals
