About the role

Criticalist | Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego – North County is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Criticalist to join our growing Emergency and Critical Care team in San Marcos, California.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Medical Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, and Cardiology
  • Contribute to the continued growth and direction of critical care within a new 35,000-square-foot hospital
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes Emergency and Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Medical Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, Ophthalmology, and Cardiology

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care
  • Experience in emergency and critical care
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to manage a complex caseload
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine in California

Pay

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $225,000 to $250,000, based on experience, qualifications, and relevant credentials. The position is also eligible for 25% production earnings.

This is an opportunity to join an established, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital and help shape the continued development of our critical care service alongside our current Criticalist.
