About the role
The Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita is seeking a full-time criticalist to practice high-quality medicine at their hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Candidates should be board certified or have completed an ACVECC approved residency training program in emergency and critical care. This position is part of a growing team that provides state-of-the-art medical and surgical care along with exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care services including stabilization, diagnostics, and treatment of critically ill patients.
- Participate in the development and implementation of critical care protocols.
- Collaborate with other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of critical care medicine through continuing education and research.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Board certification or completion of an ACVECC approved residency training program in emergency and critical care.
- Experience in veterinary critical care.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Kansas.
Skills
- Proficiency in critical care medicine techniques.
- Ability to manage complex cases under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
