Veterinary Criticalist
About the role
The Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC) is seeking a criticalist to join their dynamic and growing team. VERC is an advanced 24-hour veterinary emergency and specialty hospital with a state-of-the-art facility and advanced diagnostic equipment. They are looking for a residency trained or board-certified Criticalist who is motivated, energetic, and willing to collaborate with a team that includes specialists in critical care, internal medicine, neurology, surgery, oncology, and radiology, as well as experienced emergency veterinarians.
Responsibilities
- Manage hospitalized patients
- See incoming emergency patients
- Participate in technician training
- Provide support to other departments
- Develop/oversee ICU protocols
Requirements
- Residency trained or board-certified Criticalist
- Motivated and energetic
- Fits well with the team
- Stays up to date with medical guidance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Experience with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment

Benefits
Base Compensation Range: $200,000 – $230,000 annually, depending on experience and board certification. The team can provide more information about compensation and benefits for your specific location during the process. For positions based in Colorado, EVH provides eligible employees with paid sick and safe leave and public health emergency leave in accordance with the requirements of Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.
Pay
$200,000 – $230,000 annually, depending on experience and board certification.
Schedule
24-hour rotating shifts.
