Veterinary Assistant - Surgery
About the role
VCA Colonial Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced surgery veterinary assistant to join our Surgery team full time. We are a hybrid hospital and one of the premier providers of primary, specialty, and emergency care located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region in Upstate New York. Our 17-doctor hospital serves clients 24/7/365. We are looking for individuals passionate about providing advanced care and management of patients in a specialty setting.
Responsibilities
- Primary scrub nurse duties
- Turn over OR and autoclave instruments
- Assist LVT with surgery prep
- Assist DVM with morning SOAPs
- Hands-free radiology
- Greet clients and handle patient discharge
- Client education and communication

$19 – $21/hour, dependent on experience and skill set
