Veterinary Assistant Radiation Oncology

Job Summary

A Veterinary Assistant is needed to assist doctors and other hospital staff in a radiation oncology department. Previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility is preferred. Must be friendly, outgoing, and capable of learning new techniques and treatments.

Duties

• Assist in patient treatments and surgeries
• Care for and clean patients and facilities
• Perform other animal care functions as needed
• May be cross-trained for front office receptionist duties

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communications skills
• Capable of being a team player
• Telephone and computer skills

Physical Requirements

• Dependable attendance
• Ability to lift 40 pounds
• Willingness to work long or irregular hours
• Walking, bending, standing, and reaching constantly
• Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records
• Speaking and hearing sufficient to understand, give information in person and over the telephone
• Fine motor skills adequate for using hospital equipment
