Job Summary
A Veterinary Assistant is needed to assist doctors and other hospital staff in a radiation oncology department. Previous experience or training/education in a veterinary facility is preferred. Must be friendly, outgoing, and capable of learning new techniques and treatments.
Duties
- Assist in patient treatments and surgeries
- Care for and clean patients and facilities
- Perform other animal care functions as needed
- May be cross-trained for front office receptionist duties
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communications skills
- Capable of being a team player
- Telephone and computer skills
Physical Requirements
- Dependable attendance
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Willingness to work long or irregular hours
- Walking, bending, standing, and reaching constantly
- Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records
- Speaking and hearing sufficient to understand, give information in person and over the telephone
- Fine motor skills adequate for using hospital equipment
