About the role
This is a unique opportunity to join a long-standing, respected practice where you can truly do your best work alongside dedicated colleagues. As a full-service, small animal clinic, you will practice up-to-date medicine across a wide spectrum of patient needs. Our medical focus is comprehensive, encompassing robust Wellness and Prevention programs alongside significant advanced capabilities. We routinely utilize Testing and Diagnostics, deliver Advanced Care, and perform modern Surgical Procedures. Furthermore, our practice provides necessary Urgent Care services for the Herndon community, allowing you to continually sharpen your clinical skills and manage diverse cases.
Your new professional home is located at 795 Station St in Herndon, VA. Herndon is an established, active area where our practice has been rooted for decades. Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on patient care and support appointments
- Assist in surgery and advanced procedures
- Assist with anesthesia and support recovery
- Work closely with a collaborative medical team
- Deliver a great client experience every step of the way
- Provide Essential Patient Care: assist the medical team with hands-on care and ensure every animal is treated with compassion and respect
- Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: anticipate the needs of veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient, and collaborative workflow
- Create a Positive Client Experience: assist with scheduling, payments, and communications, always with a courteous and informative approach
- Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: maintain the hospital, perform clinic upkeep and equipment maintenance to uphold high standards of care
Requirements
- Proficient restraint skills
- Understanding of vaccine protocols and Core vs. Lifestyle differences
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Passion for high-quality medicine and client care
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure
- Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset

Pay
$17-$21/hour, based on experience
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
