Veterinary Assistant

About the role

Beechmont Pet Hospital is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant to join their growing team. Part-time positions may also be available.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient care and treatment
• Monitoring hospitalized pets
• Maintaining inventory and stocking supplies
• Restraining animals during blood draws and nail trims
• Aiding with routine diagnostic tests
• Maintaining & sterilizing surgical instruments
• Clean/disinfecting the hospital
• Administering medication under supervision
• Feeding/bathing animals
• Answering phones and providing general customer service

Requirements

A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task are required. A customer service background and/or veterinary hospital experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not necessary.
