Veterinary Assistant

Intown Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. In this position, you will take an active role in: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflowsAssisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistryProviding safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural carePreparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and proceduresMonitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recovery as directed by the veterinary teamPerforming dental prophylaxis and dental radiographyMaintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentationReviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionatelyBuilding positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive serviceMaintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces Schedule And Compensation Compensation: $17-22 per hour, for each hour workedThis is a flexible full-time or part-time position offering a 4/10 schedule, with availability needed Monday through Friday and one Saturday shift (8:00 AM–12:00 PM) per month at our Morningside location. Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experienceHealth package: Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and disabilityEmployee Assistance Program401k with company matchPaid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable lawPersonal pet discountPart-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum Qualifications And Skill Set 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferredProficiency in the following skills:Safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperamentsProficiency in radiology, phlebotomy, SQ injections, laboratory sample collection, inpatient nursing care, and obtaining patient histories, weights, and vital signsExperience with surgical preparation, aseptic technique, and assisting during surgical proceduresAccurate medical record documentation with strong attention to detail and adherence to hospital protocolsAbility to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentExcellent communication, professionalism, and a commitment to exceptional patient care and client service Why choose Intown Animal Hospital?
