All Creatures Animal Care Center is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care. This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. In this position, you will take an active role in: Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflowsAssisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistryProviding safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural carePreparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and proceduresMaintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentationReviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionatelyBuilding positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive serviceMaintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces Schedule And Compensation Compensation: $16-20 per hour, for each hour worked5/8 schedule, Monday–FridayWeekend rotation with a technician and assistant every 5th weekend (adjusted for holiday rotation) Full-time Benefits Package*: Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experienceHealth package: Medical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurance and disabilityEmployee Assistance Program401k with company matchPaid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable lawPersonal pet discountPart-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law Minimum Qualifications And Skill Set 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferredProficiency in the following skills:Safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperamentsKnowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient careExperience assisting with exams, treatments, surgery setup and assisting, radiology, and outpatient proceduresProficiency in phlebotomy, SQ injections, laboratory sample collection, and inpatient nursing careAbility to collect patient histories, obtain weights and vital signs, and maintain accurate medical recordsStrong attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentCompassionate communication with clients and team members, with a collaborative and dependable work ethicPhysical ability to lift, bend, stand for extended periods, and safely restrain patientsCommitment to providing exceptional patient care and client service About Us All Creatures Animal Care Center is an AAHA-accredited, mixed-animal practice and the only mixed-animal hospital serving six counties. Our recently remodeled hospital (2023) features advanced technology, including digital X-ray, digital dental radiographs, ultrasound, laser therapy, an in-house lab, endoscopy, and reproductive services.
