Veterinary Assistant

Grays Harbor Veterinary Service is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing, 2-doctor team. This is an excellent position for candidates with foundational training who are looking to grow their career in veterinary medicine.

About the role

In this role, you will provide assistance to Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, including gentle animal handling and restraint during outpatient procedures such as physical exams, vaccines, and blood draws. You will prepare and clean patient areas throughout the day including exam rooms and procedural/treatment areas, anticipating team needs and ensuring preparedness and efficiency. This is an ideal position for efficient multi-taskers who enjoy a supportive role in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians with outpatient procedures (physical exams, vaccines, blood draws)
• Handle and restrain animals gently during procedures
• Prepare and clean patient areas, including exam rooms and procedural/treatment areas
• Anticipate team needs to ensure preparedness and efficiency

Requirements

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in medical note taking, patient restraint, client communication, and SQ injections

Pay

$17.50–$19.00 per hour

Schedule

Full-time, 5/8 schedule (Monday–Friday, no weekends)
