Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA Lakeview Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Located in Bountiful, UT, this full-time position requires some weekend availability. The pay range is $16.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, low-stress environment for clients and pets.
• Support the technician and doctor teams by assisting with patient exams and routine procedures.
• Take detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Fulfill prescription needs (within legal limits).
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Maintain medical records and assist with hospitalized animals.
• Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Skills

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Assisting the doctor and technician teams as needed.

Pay
