Veterinary Assistant

About the role

VCA All Pet Animal Hospital/Taylorsville is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate will support the Technician and Doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for clients and patients.

Responsibilities

• Restraining and assisting in patient exams and routine procedures.
• Taking detailed medical histories and patient vitals.
• Filling prescriptions (as allowed by law).
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging.
• Maintaining medical records.
• Providing compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
• Maintaining a clean, safe hospital environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Utah Driver's License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current First Aid certification.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and procedures.
