Veterinarian - Urgent Care
Ark Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Urgent Care Veterinarian to join our team. In this role, you will focus exclusively on urgent care cases, providing immediate medical attention, diagnostics, and treatment for a diverse range of patients, including cats, dogs, and exotic pets (reptiles, birds, and pocket pets).
About the role
Your caseload will include stabilizing sick and injured pets, wound care, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory distress, pain management, and other non-life-threatening emergencies. You will also perform urgent surgical procedures such as wound repairs, abscess drainage, and foreign body removals.
Our practice operates on an appointment-based model. Clients must call in to secure an urgent care appointment, and once we are fully booked for the day, our doctors will not be required to stay after their scheduled shifts. This structure allows for better work-life balance and ensures that our team can plan their time effectively.
You will have a 2:1 staff-to-doctor ratio and the support of 13 licensed technicians, 4 veterinary assistants, and 7 CSRs.
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate medical attention, diagnostics, and treatment for urgent care cases
- Stabilize sick and injured pets
- Perform wound care and manage gastrointestinal issues, respiratory distress, and pain
- Conduct urgent surgical procedures (e.g., wound repairs, abscess drainage, foreign body removals)
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Valid veterinary license in the state of New York

Pay
Base salary: $135,000–$155,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Includes a 22% pro-sal incentive (with no negative accrual). High performers can exceed $190,000 per year based on productivity. Sign-on bonus: $20,000.
