Veterinarian, Medical Director

Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital is a 20‑year AAHA‑accredited small animal and exotics general practice and the 2024 AAHA Practice of the Year. We’re partnered with Alliance Animal Health while maintaining strong local leadership. Our owner, a 28‑year veterinary practice veteran, mom of three, and professional and active leader in the hospital, is deeply invested in building a supportive, high‑performing team and is ready to hand the reins to the right Veterinarian as Medical Director.

Responsibilities

• Three days per week see appointments, perform surgery and dentals, and practice at the top of your license.
• One day per week mentor newer veterinarians and lead the weekly two‑hour hospital rounds.
• Work across the Customer Experience (CET), Technicians (TT), and Veterinary Assistants (VA) teams to foster collaboration for top‑notch care.
• Personal assistant checks in/out all your appointments and monitors your task lists.
• Perform exams, diagnostics, treatment plans, surgery, and dentals.
• Stay on schedule so you walk out on time, every time.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD from an accredited institution.
• New Hampshire veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain).
• 7+ years of clinical experience.
• DEA license and USDA accreditation preferred (not required).

Skills

• Outstanding diagnostician, comfortable with complex cases.
• Natural mentor who enjoys teaching others.
• Exceptional client communicator.
• Operational mindset – understanding how high‑touch practices run.
• Surgery experience welcome (not required).
• Avian/exotic experience a plus.
• Comfortable with emergency medicine.
