Veterinarian Critical Care Specialist

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas (Lewisville area) is looking for a full-time Critical Care Specialist. The position is open to any board certified or board eligible candidates. New residency grads are welcome!

Responsibilities

• Work alongside a talented, full-time ER doctor team.
• Collaborate with specialists in Neurology, Oncology, and Internal Medicine.
• Assist with quality-of-life discussions and provide an alternative option to in-hospital euthanasia through BluePearl Hospice.
• Participate in ongoing training programs including residency and internship opportunities.
• Contribute to the growth of the service by building it into a residency program if desired.

Requirements

• Board certification or board eligibility in Critical Care.
• Experience in critical care medicine preferred.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas.
• Passing score on the AVMA ACVIM Specialty Exam in Critical Care.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in critical care procedures and treatments.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
