About the role

Big Sky Animal Medical Center, located in Great Falls, MT, is a well-established, full-service veterinary hospital dedicated to providing the highest level of care to pets in our community. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinarian (urgent care/GP) to join our dynamic and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat urgent medical conditions, including trauma, poisoning, acute illness, and surgical emergencies.
• Provide life-saving interventions such as CPR, fluid resuscitation, and advanced pain management.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide high-quality care for patients.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about their pet's condition, treatment options, and prognosis.
• Work closely with specialty services, including internal medicine, surgery, and imaging when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
• Provide mentorship and support to technicians and junior staff members.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school.
• Proven experience in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, or willingness to learn.
• Strong clinical skills, including diagnostics, emergency surgery, and trauma management.
• Able to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care and client communication.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in an emergency setting.
