Alta Animal Hospital is a progressive, multi-doctor small animal practice located in Pocatello, Idaho. The city, affectionately known as “Poky,” offers the charm of a small town with the convenience of nearby big-city amenities. Nestled in a beautiful mountain valley and home to Idaho State University, Pocatello is also within driving distance of Salt Lake City, Sun Valley, Jackson Hole, and Yellowstone National Park.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive veterinary care to a diverse patient population
• Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment
• Participate in professional development opportunities and continuing education
• Collaborate with a team of experienced veterinarians and support staff
• Manage a caseload that may include routine check-ups, surgeries, and emergency cases

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Idaho
• Experience in small animal medicine and surgery preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Passing scores on the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective time management and organizational abilities
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently

Skills

• Advanced diagnostic and procedural skills
• Proficiency in digital radiography and endoscopy
• Knowledge of in-house diagnostic lab techniques
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
