About the role

We’re seeking a compassionate, motivated Veterinarian to join two well-established, community-focused animal hospitals in rural Louisiana. This flexible split position allows you to work across two clinics, with an estimated 2 days per week at each location—though we’re also open to 3 days per week if that’s a better fit for your lifestyle. Whether you’re a new graduate looking for mentorship or an experienced veterinarian seeking balance and variety, we’re happy to tailor this role to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive veterinary care to a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, small pets, livestock, and small ruminants.
  • Participate in routine and emergency care, including but not limited to wellness care, spays/neuters, soft tissue surgery, and wound management.
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients to ensure their pets receive the best possible care.
  • Collaborate with other veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to provide a seamless and efficient service.
  • Adapt to a rural setting, valuing adaptability, teamwork, and a genuine love for animals over rigid checklists.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution.
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Louisiana.
  • Experience in small animal medicine preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude towards working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about veterinary medicine and committed to providing exceptional care to animals.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive, community-based practice.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + production.
  • Attractive bonus potential.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • Health, dental, vision, and ancillary coverage.
    • 401(k) with match.
    • Generous PTO and a schedule designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
    • A 4-day workweek (2 days at each hospital).
    • 1 Saturday per month.
    • CE allowance, paid licensing, DEA, dues, and fees.
  • Robust Mentorship program for new graduates.
