Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform veterinary examinations, diagnostics, and treatment of animals as required by CBP.
- Support inspection, handling, and disposition of animals and animal products encountered during CBP operations.
- Provide professional veterinary guidance related to animal health, disease prevention, and biosecurity.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records, reports, and documentation in accordance with CBP requirements.
- Cook with CBP personnel, agriculture specialists, and other government representatives as directed.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and professional veterinary standards.
- Respond to services as ordered under individual delivery/task orders issued during the contract period.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution.
- An active, unrestricted license to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.
- Knowledge of animal health, zoonotic diseases, and veterinary public health practices.
- The ability to work in an operational airport and law-enforcement environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting government, agriculture, or port-of-entry operations.
- Familiarity with federal animal health and import/export regulations.
